LS2K is closing down. This is for a few reasons, the biggest one being a person who's managed to close the site before and has now made me decide to do it on a permanent basis. I was talking to Rootrider earlier, and we were reminding each other of why we maintained our sites. Fun, we do it for fun. And LS2K, for the reason I've just stated is not fun anymore. Of course you'll understand that my family comes before anything I choose to do online, and when a certain person makes comments about my family (about my unborn son actually), I figure it's time to call it a day. I apologize to the people that have become friends of through this site, but I would like to pick out a few names, Yaso, demigod, Rootrider, Wattsed, Kuhndog., DeViLbOi, Claymore, CraHan, RJN, Mulvane, Jesterace, azathoth, NeXTer, qwilk, the list goes on and on, thankyou for everything in the past. I'm not quitting altogether, I'll still be in #ls2k, and posting news on LSNet.

And there are plenty of other wonderful sites to get your daily dose of LS news -
Shellfront http://shellfront.org/
Desktopian http://desktopian.org/
FPN http://floach.pimpin.net/
Litestep.com http://litestep.com/
and many others, you get the picture.

And thanks most of all to you. LS2K was getting sometimes over 2million hits/month recently (see Yaso, I said we'd never do it but you were right hehe). And it's been my pleasure and privilidge to run the site over the last three years.
See you on LSNet, #ls2k and on the mailing list - Long Live LiteStep!

deviantART would gladly post LS news if someone interested in Litestep would submit the news!

I think it's sad how admins get personally attacked. I applaud jalist and the rest of the crew for the fine job they have done.

Jalist I'm really sorry you had to endure such out right dumbass attacks by people who obviously don't understand how much work goes into a site that large. I know it don't really matter, but you have all my respect.

I was FAR from a big user of the site, but it WAS the site that finally made me understand how LiteStep worked. It was with the help of a friend and LS2K that I managed to get LS working and working well. I will miss the site

Oh, and Skinbase would also gladly post any LiteStep related news that was submitted to us as public news.

Grrr... Neither SkinBase nor DevArt fit the profile to be posting indepth shell news. The torch is passed to ShellFront, FPN and Desktopian.

Just my comments as posted on Devart....

"Putting things in perspective, [although I'm sure a few here will still be as ignorant afterwards]
The closure of LS2K is to LiteSTEP what the 'closure' of skinz.org was to the skinning community.
Morph, some 'real' 'STEPpers are here and understand full-well the impact of this loss.
Yes, I've come across Aaronx before...on LiteSTEP sites and Irc.....I just wrote him off as a self-possessed kid who thought he new it all but was just a little s***-head to be ignored....

Jalist, I trust all will be well with you, your family, and future endeavours.
Try not to be disheartened by the deeds of the few, but take comfort in the respect 'STEPpers have for you and your efforts....

That's about it...;\
