well ah, doesn't everyone only allow chosen people to send them email?
I mean if your working a commercial email account your not able to do it as Dangeruss points out his HD email is swamped, PixTudio works through their regular email I am guessing so it is open. Has to be a spyder that gathered all the emails to start with...

What I would like to know is if any emails are listed by known friends, clients or users or are all of them generic in nature. Mass emalier scripts shouldn't run automatically either because people should have an Active Virus scanner that blocks scripts until the authorize a script to run (only takes a moment and can save your hours if not days, or/including your work)

IPlural - the damned thing not only comes in as friendly adresses, but it also fakes coming in as your address.

yesterday I was out of my machine during 20 hours, when I cam back and openned Outlook, I had over 4000 emais, what took me over 3 hours to dll. Even being with  my virus updated and with my machine 100% clean. This is a shame >

I started getting them yesterday. None have been from addresses I recognize, and all of them are being sent to my skinnerz pix site address. 

ouch thats so bad, isnt this been worst yet 2000 to 4000 spam viruses...

I'm still getting them en masse too. I basically want to hunt down the idiots who didn't bother to protect themselves and confiscate their computer. They obviously can't be trusted with owning one!

The virus spreads by examining a large range of filetypes on an infected machine, extracting e-mail addresses it finds from web pages, address books, text files or whatever. So yes, a spider is partially responsible, but not in the general use of the word. The virus doesn't actually hunt through on-line web pages for addresses.

I haven't seen any either. My dialup ISP account which I use for most of my email has antivirus and spam filters for email so don't know if that's why I haven't seen any viruses. My cable ISP doesn't screen any mail.

Unfortunately, the account that I am getting slammed on is our support account.  Not getting the virus sent to us much, but are getting flooded by "returned" email from email that was spoofing our address.  it's a real pain and a drain on our email server. 

Where my hubby works, they pulled the plug on outside email.  you can use the intranet to talk to company employees, but they will not accept outside mail until all this clears up.

I've gotten 765 since yesterday, mostly on two accounts. My comcast account hasn't been hit yet at all... guess it could be worse. Seems like every fifteen minutes I get 20 or 30 more.

I'm surprised how many are from familiar names. I don't want to embarrass anyone so I won't mention any names but this virus has gotten into quite a few friend's machines aparently.

David, the e-mail addresses that these mails appear to be coming from aren't the real addresses of those infected by the virus. Read my post above.

6500 and counting so far, this sucks so bad

I haven't received any. I pay extra for an account that activly scans for virus. Mainly I got it for the storage, but now I am glad for the virus protection. Since I have been hearing about so many viri, I stopped downloading mail and stopped sending anything fancy... just whe web-based generic mail.

I also got a trial of norton ( I was using a free one before), manually check for virus updates every day.....
